Cape Cod strandings deplete rescue team's resources

The International Fund for Animal Welfare's marine mammal rescue team at Cape Cod has responded to more animals in the last twenty-seven days than they did in any other previous year. The unprecedented number of strandings have severely depleted the team's resources.

Since January 12 to date, one hundred and thirty-two dolphins have been found on the beaches. Unfortunately, the majority do not survive the initial strandings. Of those that do, the IFAW team has been able to successfully return thirty-seven to the ocean so far.
