Woodland Park Zoo adds four new lions to pride

Mother Adia and her four new cubs in the maternity den the morning after their birth. The cubs were born on Nov. 8 at the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle.

The award-winning WPZ participates in Species Survival Plan (SSP) for African lions. SSP matches animals in North American zoos based on genetic diversity. The captive breeding of threatened and endangered animals under a SSP helps maintain a healthier population.
