IFAW is working with the Native Animal Trust Fund and Hunter Koala Preservation Society to help wildlife injured in the New South Wales bushfires. Koalas, wallabies, possums, and other animals need to be treated quickly and will need a long recovery period before they are able to survive on their own in the wild.

Urge FWS Director Dan Ashe to move forward with the proposal to list the northern long-eared bat as endangered throughout its range and to reconsider its decision not to list the eastern small-footed bat under the Endangered Species Act.
Carbon dioxide is one of the greenhouse gases contributing to global warming and subject to the Kyoto Protocol. Carbon emissions from deforestation, the burning of fossil fuels, changes in land use, and other human activities are increasing, while the earth's ability to soak up, or "fix" the carbon, is decreasing because of ocean and forest changes. Reforestation is a way to help restore the balance.
