In the wild, moose calves are vulnerable to deadly encounters with automobiles and natural disasters, which is why young moose are very close with their mothers. The Northern Lights Wildlife Society protects moose who have been orphaned from the dangers that their mother would normally teach them to avoid.

Keller Laros encountered a distressed bottlenose dolphin while diving off the cost of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. Apparently, the dolphin had somehow gotten his pectoral fin snagged by a fishing hook, and was in desperate need of some help.
Laros, in an incredible display of altruism, immediately went to work to free the troubled cetacean.
