Goal: 30,000 Progress: 3,822

With everyone focused on the battle over the Dakota Access Pipeline, another pipeline is quietly threatening our drinking water in America. The Army Corps of Engineers granted Plains All American Pipeline final approval to start construction of the Diamond Pipeline.

The $900 million project, funded by Plains All American Pipeline and co-funded by Valero Energy, will span 440 miles of inhabited lands through Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Tennessee. The pipeline will be transporting up to 200,000 gallons of crude oil each day directly through 5 major water systems including the Arkansas and Mississippi Rivers.

Plains All American Pipeline has been a source of controversy for years. Since 2006, they have been responsible for 223 oil-related incidents, including the infamous Santa Barbara Oil Spill in 2015 – where 100,000 gallons of crude oil polluted the Pacific Ocean and the shores of Refugio State Beach.

With Plains All American Pipeline's atrocious disregard for the environment, another oil-related incident is almost guaranteed.

Plains All American Pipeline has damaged the environment enough already. President Trump's order for pipeline construction across the country to resume, it's crucial to make sure the Diamond Pipeline doesn't go unnoticed. We must take action! Tell the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to halt further construction of the Diamond Pipeline.

To the Army Corps Of Engineers,

Your approval to begin construction of the Diamond Pipeline greatly concerns me. Plains All American Pipeline’s plan for the Diamond Pipeline directly threatens the environment and the nation's drinking water. Because of our concern for quality of life, our drinking water, and the state of our environment, I write to you today to implore you to halt any further construction of the Diamond Pipeline.

As you know, Plains All American Pipeline has a sordid history with oil spills and other oil-related incidents here in the United States. At which point do we determine enough is enough? It’s time for us to put an end to their destructive practice but we cannot do it without you. Stand up and protect our Earth, our drinking water, and the millions of residents at risk in Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Tennessee.

Please reconsider your decision and evaluate Plains All American Pipeline in light of their disastrous history of oil-related incidents. Halt the construction of the Diamond Pipeline before any further damage happens to the environment!

Thank you,
