Goal: 25,000 Progress: 6,984
Sponsored by: National Parks Conservation Association

President Trump recently announced that he is ignoring 2.8 million American voices and instead acting upon Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke's recommendation to slash both Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monuments in Utah. This is illegal and would cause irreparable harm to these sacred and scientifically important places.

The president has no authority to cut any national monument.

Please sign our petition asking Congress to stand up to the president's illegal action and defend the places that belong to all of us.

I am extremely disappointed by President Trump's attempt to change the boundaries of Grand Staircase-Escalante and Bears Ears National Monuments. Not only is his action illegal, it blatantly disregards the millions of comments submitted in support of our national monuments.

Undoing protections for these two important places would be a betrayal to the American people, and the land and history we've spent generations safeguarding. As my representative in Congress, I urge you to speak out against these reductions and any future administrative attacks on our national monuments. And please oppose any congressional actions that try to implement the president's recommendations.

The national monuments under attack belong to all of us. And it is up to all of us to protect them.

Thank you for considering my comments.
