Goal: 25,000 Progress: 14,470
Sponsored by: National Parks Conservation Association

Yellowstone National Park's wildlife rely on protected habitat outside of the park to thrive. And the Custer Gallatin National Forest - just outside Yellowstone - is important habitat for many of the park's iconic animals, including bison, grizzly bears and pronghorn.

The U.S. Forest Service is revising the plan that will guide Custer Gallatin National Forest for decades and they are currently seeking public comments.

Now's the time to let the Forest Service know it should prioritize wildlife in its plan! Sign our petition to tell them to include strong protections for wildlife that move beyond Yellowstone's borders.

As someone who values America's national parks, I urge the U.S. Forest Service to prioritize wildlife habitat connectivity and management strategies that promote healthy habitat for wildlife in the Custer Gallatin National Forest.

Many species found in Yellowstone National Park must move beyond park borders to public lands managed by the Custer Gallatin National Forest to access food, reach seasonal habitat and connect with other portions of their population.

The U.S. Forest Service should include habitat standards and human-wildlife conflict reduction practices to promote grizzly bear connectivity between the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem and the Northern Continental Divide Ecosystem. In addition, the plan should provide additional measures to support bison on the national forest.

Please ensure protections are in place in the Custer Gallatin National Forest Plan to adequately protect and enhance Yellowstone wildlife and resources.

Thank you for considering my comments.

Sincerely,

Petition Signatures
