At GreaterGood, we do our best to raise awareness of good causes and to connect people every day with simple ways to make the world a better place. It is our charitable partners who do the heavy lifting — the ones who use the funds that your daily clicks and your shopping raise to accomplish the mission.
Funding for all charitable projects and partners is distributed by GreaterGood.org. Since GreaterGood began in 1999, we have given more than $50 million to charities operating here and around the world.
Grants funded by The Rainforest Site are paid by GreaterGood.org to charities and non-profit organizations implementing programs to preserve rainforests and create sanctuaries for the endangered species living there. Clicking and shopping on The Rainforest Site funds grants for the following charitable partner, among others:
Rainforest Trust (formerly World Land Trust-US) provides the opportunity to buy rainforest land and establish new protected areas that conserve rainforest and other sites of high biodiversity value. Their projects target lands that conserve are or endangered species, and are low in price, so that a minimum amount of funds protect high priority areas. Since its founding in 1989, Rainforest Trust has played a central role in the creation of new protected areas in several countries, including Colombia, Peru, Mexico, Ecuador, Guatemala, Argentina, Chile, and others, working with local organizations to purchase and conserve lands that are extremely high in biodiversity.
