Coal ash pollution is poisoning our environment, affecting our wildlife, and causing serious health problems. Take action!
Coal ash seeps into our water and atmosphere as deadly toxins are emitted from coal plants and coal disposal sites. The runoff contains toxic chemicals like mercury, lead, selenium, and disturbingly, arsenic. This pollution significantly increases risks for cancer and other serious health defects.
The seriousness of this problem is no secret to the EPA, yet no regulations have been put in place that would protect us from this pollution.
We need comprehensive regulations and standards implemented in order to ensure coal ash doesn't pollute our environment and subsequently pose grave public health risks. Sign the petition asking EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy to stop stalling on this issue and see to it that coal ash doesn't threaten our health, animal life, or the environment any longer.
