Jerusalem Stone Mezuzah Case
"By the commandment of the mezuza, man is reminded of the unity of God..."
Made with beautifully carved Jerusalem stone, this mezuzah is a contemporary work of art as well as a traditional and functional scroll casing.
The "Shin" on the cover stands for the word "Shaddai", a synonym for God, and an acronym for "shomer d'latot Yisrael," protector of the doors of Israel, which is also on the obverse side of the traditional hand-written parchment scroll. (Kosher scroll not provided).
Mezuzot can go on any doorway in the home except bathrooms or closets. Mount on the right side, a third of the way down from the top of the door. Care should be taken to mount the mezuzah at a slight angle with the top pointing into the room.
In Talmudic times it was thought that a mezuzah provided protective powers, and artistic mezuzah cases are frequently given as gifts for weddings and other special occasions.

January 4, 2014 - Gorgeous
October 21, 2013 - It is beautiful - but packaged so poorly that the 2 that I ordered were cracked. They were packed in a thin bubble-wrapped envelope, but had no protective wrap around either piece. The boxes that they came in were open in the front - permitting them to bounce around and cracking them. I called and were sent 2 replacements - both replacements packaged the same way - and received in a cracked condition. I haven't called yet for additional replacements, but I am considering doing that - if they would pack them properly.
