The Amazon Rainforest is the largest tract of tropical rainforest in the Americas, and is home to the largest known collection of plants and animals in the world. Amazonian forests are under constant assault from loggers, ranchers, and mining interests, threatening the extinction of thousands of species each year. The need for permanent, large-scale protection is urgent. GreaterGood and The Rainforest Site are partnering with Rainforest Trust on their most ambitious project to date - protecting 5.9 million acres of primary rainforest in the Sierra del Divisor Range in the heart of the Amazon Rainforest in Peru. This range, which is home to 16 primate species, provides habitat for many rare plants and animals whose survival depends on its protection. Together with its Peruvian partner CEDIA, Rainforest Trust will create two nationally protected areas and a buffer zone of community lands, ensuring this large area will be protected into perpetuity.Click here to help Rainforest Trust!

September 7, 2013 - I have a pair of these earrings I wear them all the time they are so pretty
February 19, 2013 - I bought these as a gift and she loves them! I would have given 5 stars but they should be made a little bigger. Very nice colors and design.
February 4, 2013 - These are my favorite earrings. I love the colors. They're lightweight and not too big. Just beautiful. In fact, I'm ordering another pair. Update: I bought another pair but they were green :( I lost one of the blue ones so was trying to replace it. So I just received my third pair, and they're a beautiful purple! I wish I could specify blue. Maybe I'll mix them up!
December 4, 2012 - A lovely gift
October 1, 2012 - The earings are pretty. BUT they are soooo small. :( They would look better on a 6 yr old than on me. They almost hit the bottom of my ear lobe. They would be better as studs than french hooks. Lastly mine do not look blue at all. :( they are more a pinkish purple. I love purple, and I love blue. But sadly, these are neither.
In 2003 Johana Vazques was a single mom in Guadalajara struggling to support five children on her own when she heard about Dichrodreams -- a local enterprise which taught locals the art of dichroic glassmaking. Johana entered the training program and was soon making beautiful jewelry. She began earning a living wage, and her family's future changed forever.
Johana puts it this way: "Through my hard and skilled work I have been able to give food, shelter, education, and medical attention to my five kids. Two of the older ones now work in the company. It has been a world of opportunities for all of us."
Iridescent dichroic glass is made by combining crystal and metal at high heat, an art form that originated in ancient Rome. The artisans of Dichrodreams took the craft a step further by incorporating sterling silver into the mix in 1999, experimenting with new techniques. The result is an exceptional work of art. Today Dichrodreams jewelry is sold in 55 countries, making it a leader in the dichroic glass and silver jewelry industry.
